Northeast Texas Children’s Museum
Executive Director Announces Retirement

The Northeast Texas Children’s Museum Board of Directors officially announces the retirement of their Executive Director, Sharline Freeman. She has dedicated her heart and soul to the museum for the past sixteen years, creating a regional beacon for northeast Texas. Her love for the museum is immeasurable, and her fundraising efforts have helped to grow the museum into what it has become today - an exciting and interacting attraction for children. It is a popular destination for school field trips, weekend birthday parties, and family outings. The museum sees approximately 50,000 visitors annually, coming from many cities and neighboring states.

Sharline announced her retirement to the board of directors a few months ago and will continue her role through the end of December.

A Retirement Reception in honor of Sharline Freeman will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 3–5 p.m. at the museum. We cordially invite our community to join us as we honor Sharline for years of dedication and service to the museum.
