You can support the mission of the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum through teaching & guiding learning!

teaching & guided learning opportunities

At the Northeast Texas Children's Museum, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you're helping bring a special event to life, leading an educational program, keeping our exhibits running smoothly through general operations, or guiding students on a field trip, your time and talents help create moments of discovery for children and families across our region.

We welcome volunteers of every background and skill set — no experience necessary for most roles, and paid opportunities are available for educational program teachers and field trip facilitators.

Explore the opportunities below, then complete our application to get started.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM teachers

Educational Program teachers are compensated at $15/hour.

We're looking for certified educators, teacher's aides, parents/grandparents, and passionate subject-matter enthusiasts alike — to lead hands-on learning experiences, including:

  • Sensory Kids

  • Fine Arts (theater, dance, art)

  • Science / STEM

  • Nature / Agriculture

  • Cooking, Sewing, Crafts

  • Music + Movement

Teachers may volunteer for as few as two sessions or as many as their schedule allows. A background check and brief training are required. Curriculum is provided, or bring your own ideas and resources — we welcome creativity.

Field Trip Facilitators are compensated at $15/hour.

Field Trip Facilitators guide visiting school groups through their museum experience, helping make each trip educational and memorable.
